We
live in a very confused world today. We are saving the whales and killing our
babies. We are protecting eagles' eggs while disposing of fertilized human
eggs.
We
hear the cry of environmentalists who claim that the animal kingdom is vastly
under populated and the human race is vastly overpopulated. They hold a
Conference
to protect wildlife one week, then stage a conference to control human
population the next.
This
observation might cause some to think of me as a radical extremist, but before
you draw that conclusion you may want to read an interview with the
French
oceanographer Jacques Cousteau, which appeared in the November 1991 edition of
the Unesco Courier. He stated: "To stabilize world population we must
eliminate
350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not
to say it." This is a man who has dedicated his whole life to
preserving
wildlife!
The
Georgia Guidestone is an erected monument in Elberton, Georgia. Dedicated to
the New Age movement, it features the Ten Commandments of the New Age Movement.
The
first commandment declares that the world's population should be depleted to
500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. On September 13, 1994,
delegations
from
more than 180 countries converged on Cairo, Egypt, to rally a mission to
stabilize the world's population. This U.N.-led community drew up a 20-year
plan
for controlling the world's population.
Politicians
use high-sounding phraseology such as a woman's right to choose and champion
supposedly noble causes such as defending against overpopulation
in
order to justify killing babies in the womb through legalized abortion. Planned
Parenthood has as one of its major objectives the determination to convince
people
that they should not become parents. Do you think for one minute that when a
young woman walks into an abortion clinic she is going to be told that
she
ought to be a mother? Abortion clinics do not get paid to counsel young women
to keep their babies; they get paid for every baby they extract. Abortion
is
big business, and I don't know of one big business that got to be big by
turning business away.
The
question must be asked of the people involved with the United Nations
population control, "Was Hitler a friend or foe of this committee?"
According
to
Jacques Cousteau, we need to eliminate 350,000 people every day. It took Hitler
years to exterminate 6 million Jews. Cousteau's program would take less
than
18 days.
Let's
examine this overpopulation theory. The belief that "this town is not big
enough for the two of us" has threaded its way throughout history. In
fact,
the
earliest attempt to control population was found in the original family-Adam
and Eve. Cain felt that the only way to rid himself of the guilt he acquired
as
a result of his disobedience to God was to kill his brother Abel.
Today
we see man's futile attempt to reject God's ability to supply the world's
population. Those who reject God's ability as a provider of food would laugh
at
those of us who believe that God fed 5000 men with five barley loaves and two
small fish (see John 6:5-13). Humanists believe there is no God to provide
for
us, so we must work only with our own limited resources. I too would be fearful
if I had to provide for billions of people with my resources. But the
lack
of resources serves as yet another storefront for a license to kill. If we
truly do have a food shortage, why does our government pay farmers for
not
producing crops? Why do we hear of government waste? The answer is easy: There
is no actual shortage.
Fear
mongers have made projections of gloom and doom. In 1948 Fairfield Osborn wrote
a book entitled Our Plundered Planet, in which he predicted that the
world
could not feed the 2 billion or so people living at that time. He was wrong. In
1968 Paul Ehrlich had The Population Bomb published. This Stanford
University
biologist predicted that the U.S. would be rationing food by the end of the
1970s. He was wrong. Again in 1984 he predicted, "The United States
will
quite literally be dying of thirst." He was wrong. Instead of millions of
people dying of starvation in America, millions of people are on diets to
control
overeating!
Yes,
famine is on the horizon, but not because of overpopulation. It is because God
will cut off His resources to men. Are people starving today? Yes. People
are
starving in India because they will not eat beef (cows are considered to be
gods). In Ethiopia, governments make laws to restrict people from producing
other
necessary food. In some parts of the world, war has not only destroyed the
crops but has turned farmers into fighters. The environmentalists are
daily
turning farmland into unusable wetlands. To deny that people are starving would
be ludicrous, but to say that God has not provided the knowledge
and
resources to provide for man is even more ludicrous.
The
problem is not that our earth is unable to feed the billions, but that man
cannot control the behavior of the billions. One of the oldest tricks in
political
strategy is crisis management. In other words, a government creates a crisis so
that people will accept the government's solution to the crisis,
no
matter how horrible the solution may seem. If the real conflict were truly
population versus resources, the United Nations could spend billions of dollars
to
teach people how to grow food and harvest crops. But the U.N. solution is not
the harvesting of crops, but rather the harvesting of souls. Its silos
are
stockpiled with the souls of men, women, and children, and its assembly lines
are working full- time and at peak production in order to maximize its
lethal
destruction. Here are four ways that population is being controlled today.
1.
Infanticide
Politicians
today say they are for the family. They claim they must ensure a better life
for children while they legally exterminate them. Doesn't it seem
strange
that women from around the world traveled to China for a women's rights
convention, when women in China don't have the right to bear more than
one
child? Countless millions of babies die there every year because of legalized
abortion.
Sadly,
even many Christians in good churches have fallen for the humanist view of
abortion. One key issue that keeps cropping up is "What about cases of
rape,
incest, or the child that is not wanted?" These may be legitimate
questions for those who do not believe that God is the Author of life. If you
believe
that
man plus woman plus no God equals a child, then abortion seems right. But if
you believe that man plus woman plus God equals a child, then rape, incest,
and
unwanted children are no excuse for abortion.
We
believe that God is the Creator of life. Genesis 1:27,28 says that God made man
in His image and after His likeness, and He told Adam and Eve to be fruitful
and
multiply, and to populate the earth. God gave the man and the woman the ability
to reproduce. But with that ability comes responsibility; He intended
conception
to take place within God's holy institution of marriage. God does hate rape and
incest, but I believe that if conception should occur through
these
violent acts, He doesn't want that baby aborted. At the moment of conception
God's heart is toward that child and He has a plan for its life, regardless
of
why it was conceived.
The
Bible tells us about children who were killed because they were not wanted.
Chapters I and 2 of Exodus tell us how the king of Egypt was into selective
births.
Unlike today, when we have sophisticated equipment to determine the gender, the
people in those days had to wait until birth to see whether the
child
was a boy or a girl. If the baby was a male, the midwives were to drown him
because he was unwanted. Had all of the midwives carried out that process
of
elimination, we would never have heard of a man named Moses. Herod, after
hearing about the birth of Jesus, ordered all the male children under the
age
of two killed. The Bible teaches that life begins by God, not by chance.
[The
angel of the Lord] said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the
time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard
it
in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well
stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of
women
(Genesis 18: 10,11).
Sarah,
beyond the childbearing age, was thinking in the human realm and not in the
supernatural realm when she laughed at God's promise that she would bear
a
son. Genesis 21:2 tells us, "For Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son
in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." Life in
the
womb
is no accident. God did not let Abraham and Sarah have Isaac until Abraham was
100 years old and Sarah was 90 years old. Many Christian couples have
prayed
for years for a baby and at the set time God answered their prayer.
If
the miracle of Isaac's birth to 100-year-old Abraham and 90- year-old Sarah
seems incredible, consider Noah and his family. God told Noah to build an
ark.
He had three sons - Shem, Ham, and Japheth - and they each had a wife. Genesis
7:13 says, "In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and
Japheth,
the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them,
into the ark."
Simple
math tells us that eight people entered the ark and I Peter 3:20 confirms that
math: "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering
of
God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was preparing, wherein few, that
is, eight souls were saved by water." This means that out of the entire
human
race only eight people went into the ark.
As
Paul Harvey would put it, here's the rest of the story. According to Genesis 6
and 7, it took 120 years to build this ark. During that span, God did
not
allow Noah's wife or the wives of Noah's three sons to conceive. Under normal
circumstances, a 120-year span of the lives of four families would have
found
the ark filled with people! Yet only eight entered the ark. Some might say
maybe they were sterile, but after the flood these four couples replenished
the
entire world's population. Here is another fantastic thought: The animals were
on board a ship for a year and not even the rabbits multiplied! God
is
the giver of life for animals as well as humans.
Please
don't misunderstand me-abortion has affected millions of lives, even in the
Christian community. It is not the intent of this chapter to point a
finger
of condemnation at the victims, but to warn the innocent so they will not
become victims. Many Christian men and women face the guilt associated
with
abortion today. Yes, God is the giver of life, but He is also the author of
forgiveness. We no longer need to rationalize our sins. We need God to
forgive
us of our sins and to reconcile us unto Himself.
2.
Euthanasia.
According
to media reports, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, also called "Dr. Death," has
assisted in more than 30 so-called suicides. The most recent Kevorkian-assisted
suicide
involved a woman who, according to the coroner's report, was only depressed,
not fatally ill. Dr. Kevorkian has escaped several attempts to convict
him
of murder, or homicide. So far the doctor has been acquitted of any wrongdoing.
If he escapes prosecution in the latest incident, the comprehensive
euthanasia
could become legally acceptable and perhaps even covered by health insurance.
If Dr. Kevorkian can do it, then anyone can do it. The precedent
will
have been established.
According
to Noah Hutchings in Bible in the News: I Those involved with population
control again hide their true motive behind compassion. Read what The
New
York Times has ... to say about euthanasia: "The memorandum ... proposed
that it shall be possible for physicians to end the tortures of incurable
patients,
upon request, in the interests of true humanity. This proposed legal recognition
of euthanasia-the act of providing a painless and peaceful death
......
I
failed to tell you the title of the New York Times article and the date of its
release. The tide is "Nazi Plan to Kill Incurables to End Pain; German
Religious
Groups Oppose Move." The date was October 10, 1933. For some reason the
media today want us to believe that this idea of helping hurting people
out
of their misery is the unique idea of Dr. Death. But here it is 63 years later
and the headlines are the same: "Compassionate Dr. Kevorkian Meets with
Opposition
from Right Wing, Wacko Christians."
Hutchings
concludes his Bible in the News piece with this observation:
The
New York Times, in an article titled 111933, Hitler's Amazing Year,"
brought out that in that year Hitler was made Chancellor of Germany, replaced
all
political
offices with Nazis, suspended all constitutional rights, eliminated
undesirables, established prison camps like Dachau, and confiscated the wealth
of
all political opponents. Thousands were killed under the deception of humane
euthanasia. In putting Hitler's program of euthanasia in its proper
perspective,
we
wonder if history will repeat itself here in the United States. Will
euthanasia, as in Germany, be a sign of the end of our republic and the rise of
a
totalitarian state?'
Yes,
the crimes are the same-declare war on the helpless unborn, then implement
mercy killing of those who can't defend themselves, then destroy those who
disagree
with you. The travesty of the whole thing is that they do it in the name of
benevolence. We should all check the mouth of this gift horse lest
we
one day wake up to find it was a Trojan horse.
3.
Teenage Deaths.
The
killing of the teen population is on the rise. For years I have spoken against
the destructive lyrics in rock music. Many rock musicians promote death
in
their music, and many young people die on the "Highway to Hell" (rock
song by AC/DC). According to testimony given at a Parent Music Resource Center
hearing
before the Senate Commerce Committee on September 19, 1985, "teenage
suicides have gone up a whopping 300 percent in the last thirty years, while
the
adult rate has stayed the same."'
This
hike in the suicide rate is not by accident but by design. Thirty years ago,
rock bands were not singing songs like:
1.
99 Ways to Die, performed by Megadeth
2.
Suicide Solution, performed by Ozzy Osborne
3.
Die Young, Stay Pretty, performed by Debra Harry
4.
Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun, performed by Anthrax
5.
I Hate Myself and I Want to Die, performed by Nirvana. (These were not idle
words for the lead singer Kurt Cobain. He ended his own life by shooting
himself
in the head.)
Rock
musicians hide behind the first-amendment rights. Rock musicians like Ozzy
Osborne have been taken to court, but the cases always get thrown out.
Then
we have what I call "death education" right in our public schools.
Classes take field trips to funeral homes. Students learn how to write their
own
epitaphs,
and even suicide notes. Social engineers believe that if teenagers are so
weak-minded that they will commit suicide while listening to music,
then
they should not be taking up space on planet Earth anyway. The theory is that
we all live on this big ship that is overcrowded, so why should we discourage
anyone
who wants to jump overboard?
Troubled
teens face suicide, gang violence, drug abuse, deadly sexually transmitted
diseases, and domestic violence. Many of these very real tragedies in
the
lives of teens conclude with suicide. Teens are not as defenseless as babies,
and they are not as feeble as the elderly, so they must be encouraged
to
self- destruct.
4.
Homosexuality.
This
is the final way to curb the world's population. If the world's entire
population were homosexual, the population growth would be zero. That's right-homosexuality
promotes
zero population growth. Homosexuals today are fighting for their rights to
same-sex marriages.
Walt
Disney Co. will extend health benefits to domestic partners and children of
homosexual workers next year, becoming one of the last major entertainment
groups
to do so. Disney spokesman John Dryer said the change does not apply to
heterosexuals. He wouldn't comment on the policy's impact on Disney's image
.
If you think homosexuals are not powerful in the political arena, think again.
When
Republicans met in San Diego, their openly gay delegates (all four of them)
didn't organize a caucus. But the 150 openly gay Democratic delegates,
the
Gay and Lesbian Caucus, have engaged in some of the livelier unrehearsed and
unscripted sessions here.
The
Bible clearly describes homosexuality as sin (see Genesis 19). (By the way, I
believe the Antichrist will be a homosexual, as implied in Daniel 11:37:
"Neither
shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any
god; for he shall magnify himself above all." Why wouldn't the
Antichrist
be a homosexual-he will stand for everything God stands against!)
"Likewise
also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one
toward another: men with men working that which is unseemly, and
receiving
in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet" (Romans
1:27).
God
loves homosexuals, but He hates the sin of homosexuality. For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten Son.
The
homosexual community will not totally stop population growth. Teen deaths will
not stop population growth. Abortion will not stop the world's population
growth.
But these will all work together to curb the growth.
In
conclusion, I must say that the reason murder is so natural to unregenerate
people is they are only obeying their father: "Ye are of your father the
devil,
and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning,
and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When
he
speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of
it" (John 8:44).
One of these days the United Nations population control delegates will get their wish. During the tribulation period, one- half of the world's entire population
will
be destroyed in less than 3 1/2 years. Then they will understand that God is
not only the One who gives life, but He is also the One who takes life.
